DESCRIPTION

The design of d’Leedon was generated through a series of flow lines drawn from its surroundings and alignment. These lines were then organised in bands and used to position each tower with optimal orientation so that each tower enjoy unblocked view of the city and greens. These lines were also used to develop five distinct landscape bands, each inspired by different components of a mountain ecosystem: Rock, Forest, Water, Foothills and Meadow.

The character and ambience of each band is created using a special combination of plant species, paving surfaces and facilities. This creates a remarkable visual and spatial experience as one walks along and across the bands. The towers’ footprints are minimised as they gently taper inwards as they meet the ground, hence occupying only 22 percent of the site, resulting in more opportunities for landscape and lifestyle facilities.

Another key component of d’Leedon is its sustainability initiatives. The development effectively aids residents to minimize their carbon footprint by reducing energy and water usage on a daily basis. Initiatives taken to achieve this goal include energy-efficient light fittings and motion sensors in common areas. Natural light is an important aspect of the development and is channelled into the basement carpark via sun pipes while solar panels harness renewable energy. Rainwater will be collected to irrigate the development’s lush landscaping using a sensor-controlled drip irrigation system.

The project has won the Green Mark GoldPLUS award and the Universal Design Mark GoldPLUS award, both by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA). The Public Utilities Board has also awarded d’Leedon with the Active, Beautiful and Clean Waters certification, a sure sign that the development is already fast on its way to making a name for itself.
