AkzoNobel Introduces Colour of the Year 2020 in conjunction with SIDS’s Singapore Interior Design Awards 2019/2020
AkzoNobel introduced Colour of the Year 2020 in conjunction with the launch of the Singapore Interior Design Awards (SIDA) Competition hosted by Society of Interior Designers (SIDS) on October 2019 at The Mason’s Table.
The colour is Tranquil Dawn – also known as Grey Jeans (45GY 55/052) – a delicate, fluid shade somewhere between green, blue, and grey was developed through the culmination of extensive trend research by experts around the world.
Inspired by the colours of the dawn horizon, Tranquil Dawn was designed to capture the essence of what makes us human, as the dawn of a new decade arrives. The palettes designed around this versatile shade also allows consumers and designers to use the Colour of the Year in a way that reflects who they are and how they feel, as well as how they want to live, work and play in their homes and working environments.
Divided into separate themes, the palettes are known as The Care Palette, The Play Palette, The Meaning Palette and The Creativity Palette. Beyond home and decorative paints, the same palettes can be applied to other markets such as wood, furniture, consumer electronics and automotive.
Akzonobel will also be presenting a new award category – AkzoNobel ColourFutures Award – for the SIDA competition, to the interior designer who shows the best use of colours in transforming interior spaces.
The SIDA competition is now open for entries and submission for the awards will close on February 20, 2020. Submission details and the full list of award categories can be found at https://sids.awardsplatform.com.
