Australian Trellis Door Company Achieves Success at Tan Son Nhat International Airport
The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) recently completed a high-end project using its premium-grade shopfront doors for the DFS Group at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This project builds on the success of another DFS project that was completed at the same airport early last year.
The DFS Group, majority-owned by Louis Vuitton, is one of the world’s leading international goods retailer, and has utilised ATDC’s shopfront doors in many of its international stores, such as the ones in Hong Kong, Sydney, Australia and Vietnam. Furthermore, ATDC has helped solve all technical, design and installation challenges to ensure timely handover at competitive prices.
At Tan Son Nhat International Airport, ATDC worked closely with internationally renowned shopfitters Kingsmen & Co, which has 19 offices around the globe, including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, USA and more. ATDC was involved with Kingsman in every stage, from door design right up to the installation process, and successfully delivered its shopfront doors to meet Kingsmen’s tight handover deadlines.
The doors supplied for this project are ATDC’s 300-millimetre panel polycarbonate infill doors. The curtain is manufactured from extruded aluminium sections with interlocking hinges that are suspended from a rigid overhead support track by commercial grade hangars. These hangars have metal bearings that permit the curtain to fold, slide and stack in a low-friction action for functional integrity and longevity.
Each door is also equipped with an S-bend curved shape at the top of the track, with a 600-millimetre radius, which allows the door to change positions that are relative to the lease line at different points along the span. Up/Down locking mechanisms help achieve speedy and seamless lock-up without the need for permanent millions to latch on to, and without requiring cumbersome, removable mullions that are normally used for overhead doors. ATDC’s range of shopfront doors is currently exported through Southeast Asia, APAC, the Pacific Islands and the UAE. Its management team’s expert knowledge and experience in product design, technical research and development and ATDC’’s long standing working relationships with its freight forwarders and logistics partners are key ingredients of its burgeoning export business.
ATDC’’s management also works closely with its global clients at all stages of the process, and assists in satisfying all structural and design criteria to tailor solutions to meet the requirements of each international project. Visit the ATDC website to learn more.
