The WACKER group has opened a new integrated office and laboratory facility in Jakarta, underlining its long-term commitment to Indonesia and the Southeast Asian region. The new site strengthens customer proximity by bringing commercial and technical expertise together under one roof.

Located in the Bintaro Central Business District of Jakarta, the 931-square-metre facility spans two floors combining modern office space with advanced laboratory infrastructure. The first floor houses three technical centers catering to customers from industrial sectors and the construction industry. The second floor includes office space and another technical centre which services the consumer and healthcare industries. All technical centers jointly support customers of WACKER’s Silicones and Polymers divisions.

The opening also marks the legal establishment of PT Wacker Chemicals Indonesia, effective 4 February 2026. This step allows WACKER to operate with greater local autonomy, strengthen regulatory compliance, and expand collaboration with customers and distributors in Indonesia.

“Bringing our team in Jakarta together all under one roof will enable better collaboration and synergies,” said Lars Nordblom, Managing Director Southeast Asia. “Indonesia is a key growing market in Southeast Asia with strong domestic demand. This new centralised space, our WACKER House Indonesia, will allow us to provide closer support to our local customers and partners and further expand our strong market position in the country and the region.”

The consolidation of all four laboratories facilitates closer knowledge exchange and synergies across polymer and silicone technologies. This is particularly important for customers in the construction, coatings, and consumer care industries, where integrated solutions and rapid information flow support innovation and performance.

In particular, the new construction laboratory reflects WACKER’s focus on Indonesia’s construction sector, a key driver of economic growth supported by large-scale infrastructure projects. The enhanced consumer and healthcare laboratory also supports Indonesia’s key role as a regional hub for the halal beauty industry. The lab is equipped with advanced testing capabilities, including a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) Analyzer for skin, sun, and colour cosmetic formulations and a salon-style hair wash station for standardized hair-care testing.

“We continuously aim to strengthen our partnership with our local customers by developing and testing innovative solutions tailored to local requirements and market trends,” said Lidya Gunawan, Country Manager of WACKER Indonesia.

“With this new set-up, we are well-positioned to support customers in a dynamic and fast-growing market like Indonesia.”
