Geo Connect Asia 2024: Exploring the Transformative Power of Geospatial Technologies in Southeast Asia
Geo Connect Asia (GCA), the region’s leading trade event for geospatial, positioning, digital construction, and remote sensing industries, returns to the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore on 6 and 7 March 2024. Building on its position as the region’s leading international show for the industry since 2019, GCA 2024 will explore the unprecedented growth and transformative potential of geospatial technologies in Southeast Asia as they facilitate economic development and government decision-making across the region.
Solutions within the geospatial and related industries link ASEAN countries to one another and open opportunities to address borderless challenges in areas such as environmental monitoring, infrastructure development, supply chain management and natural resource management. This is evident from the burgeoning Asia-Pacific geospatial information and technology market, which is projected to grow in value to US$216 billion by 2025.
With ASEAN’s population of over 660 million and its strong ties to the maritime, agricultural and natural resource sectors, there’s common ground for sharing solutions and fostering collaboration. As local needs drive innovation, expertise is flourishing in areas such as remote sensing and location-based analytics; these, combined with rapidly advancing geospatial solutions, add predictability for planning and addressing key challenges such as rising sea levels and the monitoring of key infrastructure.
With the theme “Geospatial Driven Impacts: Underground, Land and Sea to Sky”, GCA 2024 brings together more than 100 companies, 70 speakers and more than 3,000 attendees from ASEAN and beyond. GCA also announces the participation of Asia’s first Chief Heat Officer, Bushra Afreen, from the Adrienne Arsht-Rockefeller Foundation Resilience Center in Dhaka, at the conference segment, demonstrating how governments are recognising the need to be a part of these important conversations.
Industry-leading companies, government agencies, institutions and up-and-coming startups have confirmed their attendance, including AECOM, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), Lands Department Hong Kong, Petronas, Manila Water and Portcoast (Vietnam), Ministry of Health Singapore, GCA Strategic Partner Singapore Land Authority, among many others. Leading exhibitors include Trimble, Oracle, NavVis and pavilions from Singapore and Thailand.
Organised by Singapore-based Montgomery Asia, Geo Connect Asia 2024 will be held alongside co-located shows Drones & Uncrewed Asia, Digital Construction Asia and the inaugural Marine & Hydro Asia.
