The Resilience of Indonesia’s construction community in facing goods and services trade liberalization
JAKARTA, INDONESIA – During the next few decades, increases in private and government investment will make Indonesia one of the largest construction markets in the world. In ASEAN, Indonesia is the largest construction services market, worth $ 267 billion. In context of the Asia region, Indonesia is ranked fourth below China ($ 1.78 trillion), Japan ($ 742 billion), India ($ 427 billion). One of Indonesia’s biggest challenges in the near future is to prepare Indonesia for goods and services trade liberalization, including MEA 2015. The resilience of the Indonesian construction community in facing the new competitive market will make a significant impact on the performance of the national construction services.
“From the BUJK and man power point of view, government will strengthen the national construction service providers so they can compete with other countries on a managerial and capabilities level by encouraging business entities to increase their expertise. Moreover, the government is also encouraging construction workers certification in Indonesia. From the construction technology point of view, Indonesia needs to adopt and learn about the latest technology across all building construction sectors including materials usage and equipment.” Said Yusid Toyib, Director General of Bina Konstruksi.
Konstruksi Indonesia 2015 (KI 2015) is a strategic event for stakeholders to learn about and meet the construction services sector in supporting Indonesia’s economic growth. This event has been running since 2003, and in 2015, Konstruksi Indonesia is presenting various competitions and awards to the construction services community, such as: The Construction Workers Competition 2015, The Konstruksi Indonesia 2015 Photo Competition, The Journalistic Competition 2015, The Construction Works Awards 2015, The Construction Projects Performance Awards 2015, The Konstruksi Indonesia exhibition 2015, also The Konstruksi Indonesia seminar 2015.
The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing オンライン カジノ (PUPR) together with other associations throughout the country, and the state owned contractors has the opportunity to exhibit their priority projects. This will develop relationships with stakeholders and create new business opportunities that will support the construction industry, particularly on the implementation of infrastructure projects.
KI’15 & Construction Tech Indo 2015 (CTI”15) held in conjunction with Indonesia Infrastructure Week 2015 (IIW’15) on 4 – 6 November 2015 is a great tool for the construction services industry to share best solutions, learn about the latest technologies, strengthen partnerships, and also develop new business. Furthermore, this forum actively encourages the national and international construction community service and technology providers to participate in supporting Indonesia’s sustainable future.
