International specialist planning and management consultancy, TBH, has marked a major milestone in its Asian growth journey with the launch of its Malaysia office, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to the Southeast Asian market. This expansion complements TBH’s established presence in Singapore, where it has operated since 2010, and reflects its long-term strategy to serve clients across the region.
To lead this next phase of growth, Michael Tan has been appointed Country Manager for Malaysia. With over 25 years of experience across Malaysia and the wider Asia-Pacific region, Michael has delivered complex, large-scale projects spanning data centres, infrastructure, transport, energy, and commercial developments. He brings specialist expertise in construction planning, delay analysis, project controls, and forensic schedule assessments, and has also served as an industry advisor to a local university, bridging academia and industry to advance project management best practice.
Michael joins at a pivotal time as TBH scales its regional operations to support Malaysia’s growing pipeline of digital infrastructure, transport, water and energy developments. As Country Manager, he will lead local operations, build strategic partnerships, and deliver tailored advisory, planning, scheduling, risk and expert delay services. A key focus will be nurturing the local team and driving new opportunities for growth and long-term, sustainable success in the region.

Commenting on his appointment, Michael Tan said, “Malaysia’s infrastructure, energy and digital sectors are entering an exciting phase of development, and I’m delighted to lead TBH’s efforts in helping deliver projects that will shape the country’s future economy and built environment. Our people are at the centre of making these ambitions a reality, and I look forward to bringing my expertise in project leadership, planning and delay mitigation to support both our clients and our growing team.”
Trevor Lam, Partner at TBH, in welcoming Michael said, “As TBH celebrates its 60th anniversary, we are delighted to welcome Michael to our leadership team. His depth of expertise in project controls and delay analysis, coupled with his strong local and regional experience, will be instrumental in enhancing our service offering in Malaysia. TBH has a proud legacy of working on complex, high-risk projects globally, and this strategic move into Malaysia marks an important next chapter in consolidating our position across the region.”
Jonathan Jacobs, Managing Director at TBH, commenting on the launch said, “The opening of our Malaysia office builds on TBH’s ongoing commitment to Asia. With Michael and Trevor’s leadership, we are well placed to support clients in delivering transformative outcomes across sectors such as transport, data centres, energy and semiconductors, particularly at a time of renewed public and private sector investment. There is a growing demand for independent, specialist project management and advisory expertise to ensure these high-value, high-risk developments are delivered on time and to budget. TBH is proud to bring its global experience and proven methodologies to Malaysia, helping shape the success of the nation’s most ambitious projects.”
